3.27.09 Our last day in Nanchang...

Maelyne woke up at 5:00 am this morning. We tried to put her back to sleep but she won't even after giving her a bottle of milk. She watched a movie for the first time (Ice Age) with her daddy but only for a short period of time. Don't think she was very interested. She preferred to sit in her stroller and talk to us and play. We worked on her crawling skills as well. She's improving a little. We had our breakfast at 7:30 am at the Atrium Cafe. She had some flavored congee, rice cereal with hot milk and pancakes. She loved the pudding and had a bottle of orange juice. We also gave her apple juice while another adoptive family came talking to us and she just fell asleep in the high chair with the bottle still in her mouth. Thought that was funny and cute!
We planned on going shopping this morning but it has been raining since the night before. There were also some thunder. We were scheduled to fill out some visa forms at 3:00 pm today but instead we were told to meet at 11:00 am because other families wanted to go out and shop as well, so our guides set up a trip to the mall in the afternoon at 3:30 pm. Maelyne napped at 10:00 am and still sleeping when it was time to meet Elsie and Mary down on the second floor, so I stayed with her in the room and Henry went by himself to fill out some forms. These forms will be needed at the ACS in Guangzhou. We are preparing ahead of time.
It was 12:30 when Henry came back and that's when Maelyne woke up wanting her dad to carry her.
Maelyne got her Chinese passport today. Yeayyy.... Mary and Elsie went to pick them up from the Civil Affairs Office. We headed to the Sampan Seafood Restaurant for lunch. The Connel family just ordered from the menu when we arrived so they invited us to join them on their table.
Six families went off shopping at the porcelain store and the one family decided to be dropped off at Walmart. It was still raining but not hard. Remember Nanchang is famous of producing porcelain, so some families including us wanted to get something from Maelyne's province for her when she grows up. We got her a tea set and a vase and some porcelain bracelets. We only bought the little ones due to luggage weight limit as we are flying to Guangzhou tomorrow.
We went back to the hotel and ordered our favorite fried rice and the Nabeyaki Udon Noodles delivered to our room and the three of us shared the food. We were able to put Maelyne to sleep around 8:00 pm so we got our suitcases packed without interruptions.
We realized tonight is our last night in Nanchang. I became emotional for Maelyne because tomorrow she is leaving her province and her birthparents behind (at least we will still be inside China for the next 7 days).
We will be leaving the hotel at 8:00 tomorrow for our 10:00 am flight. See you in Guangzhou...
Few photos to look at....
